The IIJ Support Center is available for Operations Managers to receive support for Directory Sync. Review the information in this section before contacting support.

Information IIJ needs to know when you make an inquiry

When you make an inquiry about Directory Sync, provide the following information to IIJ.

  • Applicable Event Logs
    • Refer to "IIJ Directory Service for Microsoft User's Guide" for more information on how to check event logs with IIJ Directory Service for Microsoft.
  • Directory Sync configuration file (config.yml)
    • The secret.yml file contains confidential information. Do not sent this file to the IIJ Support Center.
  • Which of an on-premise environment and IIJ Directory Service for Microsoft Directory Sync uses


If you are using Directory Sync in an on-premise Active Directory environment, also provide the following information to IIJ.

  • Environment running Directory Sync (systeminfo.exe execution results, Active Directory version, etc.)
  • Directory Sync version and installation directory
  • Whether Password Sync is also used
    • If using Password Sync: Password Sync version, config.yml configuration file, and installation directory


Refer to "Customer Support" in the "IIJ ID Service Online Manual [For Administrators]" for information on the IIJ Support Center and authentication information that is needed when you make an inquiry.

  • We do not provide support on implementing Directory Sync or with creating individualized configurations. You must create configurations using this document as a reference.
  • IIJ will not be liable for any problems related to the use of older versions of Directory Sync six months after the latest update is released. If you have any problems with Directory Sync even after having updated to the latest version, contact the IIJ Support Center as mentioned above.
  • Use of this service with the Windows Server OS and directory services that are no longer supported by Microsoft is not eligible for support.
