Setting Traffic Control

For traffic control, an LB domain name is assigned to each contract. It is possible to dynamically change the response for DNS name resolution with respect to this LB domain name by using the rules (a series of processing including monitoring) set by the customer.

Flow of Setting

Settings for traffic control are configured in the following order. Refer to each link destination for more information.

  1. Set your server to be monitored properly
Permit access from the monitoring server. Refer to "IP Addresses Used by This Service" for information on the IP address of the monitoring source.
  2. Set the destination to which to send a notification when the monitoring status changes in "Common Settings"
Allow reception of data from the notification source email address and phone number at each destination. Refer to "Common Settings" for information on the notification source.
  3. Set monitoring details in "Monitoring Management"
  4. Link the monitoring settings and DNS response data to the monitoring target server in "Site Management"
  5. Define a series of processing from a DNS inquiry to the response in "Rule Management"
Name resolution of the LB domain name is now possible through the settings configured so far.
  6. Link your host name to the LB domain name
Name resolution with your host name is now possible by linking them.
