Notes on Using the Trashbox

If a file or folder with the same name is already in the Trashbox
  • If a file or folder with the same name is already in the Trashbox, "(number)" is inserted in the name. The "(number)" is removed when the file or folder with the same name is deleted from the Trashbox.
  • If the Trashbox contains a number of files with the same name, the number is incremented as "(1)," "(2)," "(3)," and so on.
  • In the case of file names, "(1)" is added before the last extension.
  • In the case of folder names, "(1)" is added at the end of the folder's name.
  • The added number is deleted when recovering files from the Trashbox.
  • For example, when you delete "test.txt" from another folder when a "test.txt" already exists in the Trashbox, the "test.txt" that is deleted later becomes "test(1).txt." "test(1).txt" is restored to "test.txt" when you recover it from the Trashbox.
Access control for files and folders
  • Files and folders retain the access control settings that were applied on the initial folder before they were moved to the Trashbox.
  • When recovering a file from the Trashbox, the access control settings of the destination folder will be applied to the file.
  • When recovering a folder from the Trashbox, the original access control settings for the folder will be applied to the folder.
